According to Dr Sharib:

"Al Kabir is the One Who is greatest of all, because He is eternal and
everlasting and will remain so. He does not depend upon anyone or
upon anything."

"To emulate the name you should try to be pious, virtuous and intent to
guide and lead the people towards the path of truth, to be helpful to the
people, to place your knowledge at the disposal of people, and to
insist on a lofty moral and spiritual character."

Appropriate invocation can open the gates of knowledge and gnosis,
secure reinstatement in the case of losing a job, and help ensure
mutual love between husband and wife.

That is because Allah - He
Is the Reality: and those
Beside Him who they invoke, -
They are but vain Falsehood:
Verily Allah is He, Most High,
Most Great.

Al-Ghazali says greatness is identical with the perfection of essence,
meaning the perfection of existence, and the One who possesses
greatness is
Al-Kabir. The perfection of existence refers to that which
does not come into being, or pass away from being - it is eternal. It is
also said that His existence is depended upon by all that exists.

According to Al-Ghazali:

'He is great among men whose attributes of perfection are not
restricted to him but flow out to others.'

Those who gain the spiritual blessings of God through pilgrimage to
Mecca, or through the blessings of the Holy Prophet, or the friends of
God - the saints, are like souls cleansed. From them, with or without
their intention, the baraka or spiritual grace flows to those that they
come into contact with. It is as if they, though creatures and subject to
time, have been dipped into the vat of the timeless perfection of
essence. Its nature is to flow outward. For this reason people have the
custom of visiting someone who has recently returned from pilgrimage.

Among the grades and ranks of Sufis the 'dervishes' are those who
are most renowned for their spiritual generosity when they are pleased
with someone.
