According to Dr Sharib:

'Al-Khaliq is the One Who plans and Whose planning is perfect and ideal.'
Dr Sharib says that to emulate of the name implies acquiring knowledge of the
form, substance and the 'mould' of everything.

Recitation of the name in an appropriate way can illumine and purify the heart.

Recitation under certain conditions can serve as protection from evil
machinations.

Al-Ghazali says:

'..everything which comes forth from nothing to existence needs first of all to be
planned.'

'This can be likened to building for example, which requires an appraiser to
estimate what he will need by the way of wood, bricks, and land area, as well
as the number of buildings with their length and breadth. This.... is the
responsibility of the architect who will sketch and design them.'

'...sheer origination is one thing, and origination according to a plan is another.'

The divine name 'the Creator' (al-Khaliq) is one of the dhikrs for those in the
station of devotion, necessitating, the useful knowledge suitable for practical
piety. It is not appropriate to teach it to those who are capable of unity, for it
distances them from gnosis, and brings them near the bond of unity.

Ibn 'Ata' Allah (d 1309) quoted from the Shambala guide to Sufism. C. Ernst. 1997.

In the world of imagination (alam-al-khayal) the seeker attempts to visualise
the form of things complete, as wholes with constituent parts, in as much detail
as he can. When he passes beyond imagination he finds the things exist, so to
say, pre-formed and fully operational in a way that is independent of the
imagination, and more real, yet having a correspondence with things on the
physical and imaginal plane.

To pass beyond the imagination in which things are 'similair', and in which we
have the illusion of being the creator of that imagined thing, requires Divine
Light, as seems implied in the passage from the holy Qur'an above.

The murid (disciple) uses the practice of visualising the face of his spiritual
guide to develop his abilities in this respect. I recall Zahurmian (Dr Sharib)
saying that the imagination can be a powerful and beneficial tool (or stepping
stone) if used properly and fully.

Qur'an 13:16
Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer
Of the heavens and the earth?"
Say: "Allah."
Say: "Do ye then take
(For worship) protectors other
Than Him, such as have
No power either for good
Or for harm to themselves?"
Say: "Are the blind equal
With those who see?
Or the depths of darkness
Equal with Light?"
Or do they assign to Allah
Partners who have created
(Anything) as He has created,
So that the creation seemed
To them similair?
Say: "Allah is the Creator
Of all things: He is
The One, the Supreme and Irresistible."
