According to Dr Sharib:

'Al-Mutakabbir is the One, to Whom all glory, majesty, power and greatness
are due.'

To emulate the name one should reject pride, arrogance, and avoid
developing a superiority complex.

Appropriate recitation can confer honour, prestige and respect upon one.

Al-Ghazali says that the only true pride is God's Pride because it is justified
pride since all is beneath only Him.

He counsels that the proud amongst men is the 'knower' who is skilled in
renunciation of both the worlds. Removing himself from everything or anything
that could distract from the truth. The one who is not a true knower however is
merely involved in a transaction - renouncing the things of this world for the
things of the next world. The proud one despises every passion and gain that
the beasts might conceivably share in.

Here are some extracts from The Qasida of Ghous-ul Azam (Hazrat Abdul
Qadir al-Jillani.)

'The rank is high of all of you but
My rank is higher than all of you.
I am alone in the presence of Unity....'

and

'O, my disciples do not feel worried, God is my sustainer,
He has bestowed such a high position on me wherefrom I get my ambitions
fulfilled.
My name has resounded in the sky and on the earth
And I am seeing the herald of good fortune......'

and

'My foot is on the shoulders of other saints'

from Ghous-ul-Azam Piran-i-Pir by Dr Z.H. Sharib

Well known in Sufism are the expressions of ecstasy in which union with God
brings about statements of extreme pride that can only be justified in an
individual on the basis of that union.

'Glory be to Me' reported of Hazrat Bayazid Bistami

and

'I am the Truth' reported of Hazrat Mansur al-Hallaj

Mevlana Rumi likens these expressions to the glow from a white hot poker
when it may justly say 'I am fire' - this is both true, in as much as the nature of
the metal of the poker has become overpowered by the nature of the fire, and
not true as is seen when the poker cools.
